Lengendary Views and Legendary Beer
Legends Brewery offers the best views of the city from it's oversized patio. The beer is spectacular and the porter style BBQ sauce makes you want to order just the sauce. No meat, no bun, no fries. Just the sauce. Yes, it's that good.
Located just across the James River from downtown Richmond, Legends Brewery is my local hideaway. I come here when I want to take a step back from the stress of the day and relax. This view is my escape from the city. Still in the city. As my second beer was being poured another local sat down next to me. We chatted baseball for thirty minutes. People were playing darts in the dart room. You could hear shouts when a good throw was made. When my food arrived I could taste the dark, chocolate, spiced BBQ sauce from the smell. My taste buds did back flips in my mouth. Eating this BBQ sandwich is a borderline religious experience. It changes my life every time. Not really, but it is a special experience none-the-less.
Thoroughly enjoying myself now, round three appears. My body is lighter now, relaxed, de-stressed. The commotion from the business day has completely and totally melted away. OK, the alcohol helps with that, but still. I have to give credit to Legends for making something like this possible.
The sun has set and the crowd has died down. It's just us locals now, a few business men with ties undone, and the bartender. We all chat across the bar, of things past, things to come and stories that beer induces. I say my goodbyes, pay my tab, and begin my short walk home. I enjoy the skyline, take my picture, and smile.
