Crab Feast
There's no better way to ring in the summer months than with a traditional crab feast. Whether you're dining on Maryland blue crabs (my personal favorite) or the Alaskan variety, a crab feast will keep your Memorial Day party guests entertained and engaged all day long. If you're going to be cooking your own crabs, you'll want to have plenty of seasoning, butter, and vinegar on hand for dipping. Nothing goes better with a crab feast than soda or an ice cold beer. For guests who aren't interested in picking crabs, consider serving crab dip with French bread, pasta salad, steamed shrimp, and fish sticks for the little kids.
Decorate your crab feast with a nautical theme. Bring out your beach umbrellas to shade your picnic tables (covered in newspaper, of course). Decorate the other tables with beach towels. Serve drinks with mini beach umbrellas. Use crab mallets in a vase to create a festive and practical table centerpiece.
