"Bunheads" Monday's, 9 p.m., ABCFamily
Calling all "Gilmore Girls" lovers, this show is for you. As the brainchild of "Gilmore" creator, Amy Sherman-Palladino, this show holds much of the same quirk, sarcasm and charm as her former show.
In fact, Sherman-Palladino even kept it in the family when it came to casting. Kelly Bishop, who played persnickety Emily Gilmore, helps co-anchor the drama as eccentric dance teacher Fanny. Playing opposite her, is television newcomer, Sutton Foster, who shines as wisecracking Michelle, Fanny's reluctant daughter-in-law.
As it turns out, Michelle is also a dancer, who has lost her way. Both, Fanny and she, are cut from a similar cloth. In the wake of their sudden loss, a new set of unforeseen circumstances cajoles Michelle into settling down in Paradise, CA. It just so happens that her new home comes not only with Fanny, but the dance studio and a gaggle of impressionable young girls looking for guidance.

Well, lucky for us, J.R. Ewing (Larry Hagman) survived and now joined by Patrick Duffy as Bobby, and Linda Gray as Sue Ellen, they've returned in this soapy and addicting reboot. This time, the old guard is joined by a handful of fresh faces as the focus slightly shifts to include the youngest members of the Ewing clan as they inherit the family feud kept up by their warring parents. It begs the question of what's thicker when it comes to family: blood or oil?
"Perception" Tuesday's, 10 p.m., TNT
It's a tried and true formula nowadays: a peculiar genius who gets roped into becoming a crime-solver in his spare time. However, this time there's a new spin to it. Dr. Daniel Pierce, (Eric McCormack) is a schizophrenic similar to Russell Crowe in "A Beautiful Mind."
The show hinges on the basis that even though Daniel struggles with schizophrenia he is still a brilliant neuroscientist who can infer clues that others wouldn't ordinarily see. FBI Agent, Kate Moretti (Rachel Leigh Cook) sees this and encourages him to help her.
Of course, her bond with him also hints that there is an underlying romantic tension building between them. This is something that is only complicated by the fact that Daniel may also love best friend, Natalie (Kelly Rowan) who may or may not be a delusion of Daniel's imagination. With a brilliant mix of some of television's current beloved quirky crime series combined into one, this show is one to watch.
