I've found a compelling collection of some of the best grilling recipes at RecipeLion.com - tempting, mouthwatering, and just terrific. This collection includes recipes for grilling beef tenderloin, recipes for grilling chicken, hamburger grilling recipes, and more. Not only that, they are free recipes for grilling, and in this tough economy, anything free is good! In particular, there are some terrific recipes for grilling chicken there, including gingery grilled chicken and peaches, chicken shwarma, and BBQ chicken thighs with sweet spice rub.
Of course, if you like beef, there are lots of good hamburger grilling recipes, too. I happen to love a good cheeseburger, so the easy barbecue bacon cheeseburgers are high on my list of the best grilling recipes. My 35-month-old son prefers his burgers without cheese, so we might have to go a different route for him. It's funny with him - he'll say he wants a cheeseburger if we go somewhere like Wendy's, but then he wants us to peel off the cheese. We've found that it's easier to order a plain hamburger (or make it!), then just place a piece of cheese on top right before we give it to him. That way, if he wants to take the cheese off and eat it separately, which is his wont, it's easy to do, since it hasn't already stuck to the burger.
My husband, on the other hand, happens to love back ribs, and among the grilling pork ribs recipes that he likes is the one for Dad's Cajun-style barbecue ribs. There's another one of those free recipes for grilling called Polly's Pork Riblets, and although we have not tried that recipe yet, I think we're going to add it to our list to try soon. My son does like rib meat, although since he's just a little guy, we don't let him have it on the bones. We just cut it off the bone into little, bite-sized pieces for him, and he goes to town. My husband made ribs a couple of weeks ago on the grill using a rub he concocted himself, and they were awesome! I don't think I ever saw my son shovel in the food quite so fast, it was really pretty cute. He's usually a very good eater, quite eclectic in his tastes, actually. How many toddlers do you know that like hot and sour soup, or California roll?
In my house, the three of us who eat what I fondly call "people food" - not baby food like the 8-month-old - feel that no meal is complete without dessert. RecipeLion.com has a wonderful recipe for chocolate pudding mix, and since my son loves "brown pudding," as he so aptly calls it, that will likely be a dessert we make soon.
