I love BBQ and I love the south, mix those two together and you get the best Atlanta barbecue around, their mouthwatering pulled pork sandwiches, collard greens and potato salad will surely make you feel as if your in heaven.
Here are my picks for the best 3 BBQ hot spots in the Atlanta, Georgia area.
Jim 'N Nick's Bar-B-Q
Jim 'N Nick's is located at 5153 Jimmy Lee Smith Parkway in Hiram, Georgia. Jim 'N Nick's is originally from Alabama but when they came to Atlanta they brought their mouthwatering old south barbecue with them. Their barbecue is simply superb and they boast some of the best slow cooked over a wood fire chicken and brisket around. Their menu is outstanding with savory BBQ'd pork, steamed cabbage and macaroni and cheese. The staff is friendly and the barbecue is well worth the money. Jim 'N Nick's has a lot of locations and another one local to the ATL is at 4574 South Cobb Dr. in Smyrna, Georgia. Both restaurants are first class when it comes to barbecue and between pork shoulders and ribs (one of my favorites), this place can't be beat no matter which location you pick. They have taste tempting slaw, potato salad and collard greens. Not to mention every location has a great bar area. For this location call 678-556-0011 to get information or directions.
The Rolling Bones Restaurant
The Rolling Bones Restaurant is one of Atlanta's top BBQ eateries and is located at 377 Edgewood Avenue. This restaurant packs a punch when it comes to their barbecue. The Rolling Bones is located in a converted gas station and is located near some of the top places to see in the Atlanta area. The Rolling Bones serves up some of the best mesquite BBQ around featuring brisket, ribs and some of the best sides like potato salad with bacon and mustard greens. The Pig n Chik
The Pig n Chik restaurants are well known almost everywhere in the Atlanta area for their outstanding barbecue. The menu boasts everything from pulled pork that makes your mouth water to some of the best platters around featuring turkey, beef and chicken. Pig n Chik restaurants are known for having great casual down-home atmospheres and beer ice cold just like it is supposed to be served. The Pig n Chik have several locations but my favorites are 5071 Peachtree Industrial Blvd in Chamblee and 4920 Roswell Rd in Atlanta.
