Toasteria Cafe in West County Mall is the Place to Go for Great Sandwiches
Toasteria cafe in West county Mall is something new in St. Louis. And the have the best grilled cheese in town.
Unfortunately in these rough economic times, I don't see them being in business that long. About the only thing that is keeping them in business now is the fact that there's no other place to get a burger in the mall since the closure of the Sonic at that very same location a few months ago.
Now there's another new restaurant that just opened at the mall: Toasteria Cafe. A lot of the restaurants in the food court there had closed up when the economy turned sour, but if they keep this up, they will have full occupancy before long. The only place left to rent is the old Great Steak Escape. They went out of business because they couldn't compete with the new Charley's that they opened there.
But I think that the new Toasteria Cafe just might have a chance. They have a nice, light menu and good service as well as a dedication to quality that I haven't seen in a long time. The owner took eight tries to get my crepe right because he wasn't satisfied with the quality. He said that he threw them away because the grill wasn't working right.
The cafe features an excellent assortment of Pannini sandwiches and over ten different types of grilled cheese sandwiches. They also have great smoothies. They also feature a really good dipping sauce that you can dip your French fries in.
The crepe that I had was light and fluffy, but I just don't care for crepes that much so my opinion was sort of biased. But when it comes to sandwiches, especially the grilled cheese, this is where Toasteria Cafe shines. And if they keep running their business like they have been, they will be around for a long, long time.
