How to Prepare Grilled Pizza

Do you know that pizza was originally made by grilling during the past times?

Before pizza acquired its new name, Romans and Greeks prepared the original pizza by using brick ovens fueled with wood which was earlier termed as flatbreads. During the early times, a piece of flat bread with a piece of meat on top is given to every diners and this is said to be the food for the poor. They weren't expecting that pizza would eventually be considered one of the top favorites of America.

Grilled Pizza Preparation

To create your own grilled pizza, you need the following ingredients: 1 ½ cup of bread flour, 1 tablespoon soy flour, 1 teaspoon dried yeast, 1 teaspoon sugar, 1 tablespoon soy oil, ½ cup warm water around 110 degrees F and 1 teaspoon salt.

In a bowl, mix in yeast, sugar and ½ cup of warm water then let stand for 5 minutes. Combine salt and flour in a separate bowl. Pour the yeast mixture to the bowl with flour and salt while adding more flour if the dough is still sticky. Knead well for 10 minutes. Place the kneaded dough in a greased bowl and let it rise for 1 hour until the size is doubled. Then take it out and knead until the dough is smooth. Roll the dough in a 12-inch diameter circle with a thickness of ¼ inch.

Clean and oil your grill first it before placing your crust on it to prevent it from sticking. Use a pizza spatula in turning the pizza. Lightly brush the side of the crust that will be facing downwards with an extra virgin olive oil for more flavor. Remove the top rack of the grill to easily turn the pizza as you cook each side for 1-3 minutes depending on the hotness of your grill. Brush olive oil to the upper crust before flipping it. After which, you can place your desired toppings, preferably light ones for fast cooking and prevent burning the crust. If you are planning to use thick veggies and meat, you can pre-cook them. Once you've topped your pizza, close the lid and add 2-3 more minutes on your cooking time.

Slice your pizza in triangles and enjoy!

Lastly, serve the pizza on a Victorian dining table. Look and compare other dining table designs too. All this and more at .
